The first Ipad had many apps you could download, you could surf the web, e-mail, very portable, and the ultimate touch screen. Finally, the apple released the newest Ipad, Ipad2, on March 2nd, 2010.
The new Ipad has many of the features the old ipad had, but many more! Its thinner, it has two cameras, one camera on the front and one camera on the back so you can facechat with friends and family! It has photobooth built-in. It comes with mail, safari, to surf the web, and ibooks, to read on the go. On the Ipad2, you can download videos for your personal use anywhere you go. The screen is 9.7 inches high with HD built in. It also features a GPS, which allows you to find your Ipad2, should you lose it. It uses the iOS 4 operating system which keeps the Ipad2 ahead of all other technology right now.
The Ipad2 has more features overall than the first Ipad. It acts more like a computer now than the first Ipad, allowing you access to Imovie and other apple programs on the go.
Customer Reviews:
The New York Times' David Pogue sounded like he found the iPad 2 experience almost magical:
My friends, I'm telling you: just that much improvement in thinness, weight and speed transforms the experience. We're not talking about a laptop or a TV, where you don't notice its thickness while in use. This is a tablet. You are almost always holding it.
Macworld's Jason Snell was happy to discover that the iPad 2 was far more comfortable to hold than the prior generation:
The end result of all this slimming down is that the iPad 2 is easier to handle than the original model. In my review of the original iPad, I said it was "heavy enough and slippery enough that I found it difficult to hold in one hand." In fact, the original iPad turned out to be a product that really demanded a case of some sort, just to make it easier to handle...The iPad 2 is easier to carry with one hand, and the decreased weight makes it easier to hold for longer periods of time.
There are many ways to use the Ipad 2 in the classroom. Students can use them as their personal smartboard. The Ipad 2 can replace all text books, paper, etc., due to the fact of Ibooks and having the opportunity to access the internet. Many examples of putting an Ipad in use in the classroom could be taking tests, working out math problems, and finding research right from your desk. If the school would invest in the Ipad 2, our school would be very GREEN!
